NOTICE: Lake water levels begin rising April 15.
WINCHESTER, NEW HAMPSHIRE
WINCHESTER, NEW HAMPSHIRE
The lake dam gate is closed and the water levels are coming up as of April 15.
Tim Baney closed the gate at the dam yesterday at 9AM, and the water began rising as of then. How fast the water will be at normal levels depends on the amount of snow melt and rain, and therefore can’t be predicted accurately. Past experience has been 1-2 weeks for the water to get to normal level.

On April 4, 2025, the New Hampshire Dam Bureau inspected the dam and gave us verbal permission to proceed with full unrestricted use of the dam.
The gate will be closed on April 15 per our operating guidelines. We do not have to close it slowly, as previously directed, so we expect the water to rise in about a weeks time.
Time to polish those boats and tighten up your docks! It has been one year and nine months since our dam was washed downstream, but we are back in business and looking forward to a normal summer.
